Why we made this.
We started with a simple frustration: almost every plant protein on the shelf was either cheap and full of things you would not choose to eat, or expensive and not much different underneath.
We looked at what was on the shelf and found two kinds of plant protein.
One kind was cheap, sweetened with sucralose, and had an ingredient list you’d need a chemistry degree to parse. The other was beautifully packaged, extremely expensive, and — once you read the back — not much different from the first.
Both came in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.
What we wanted instead
Something with a short ingredient list, where every item had a reason to be there.
An honest serving size, not one chosen to win a price comparison.
Made in Britain, so we could stand behind it properly.
And flavours that weren’t the same three flavours. Rose thandai, elaichi and pistachio, kesar badam, masala chai — the things people across South Asia have been drinking for generations, made properly rather than as a novelty.
Where we are now
FitBee is a small team, working out of Cambridge.
We make our powders in Britain with a manufacturing partner who lets us specify exactly what goes in and what stays out. We test every batch at an independent UKAS-accredited laboratory. We publish what comes back.
We’re small. That’s the point — it’s why we can put nine ingredients in a pouch instead of nineteen, and why you can email us and get an actual reply.
